Going back to your original post, you said you could hear the fuel pump but the car would not start. Did the engine turn over? What year is your car and what engine do you have in it?

the engine did turn over and its a 88 bonneville with 117 on the car and its a 6 cylinder

I suspect you need to install a new crank shaft position sensor. It might be the ignition control module (ICM), but based on your description I would start with the CPS. If you do decide to change ICM'*, Dan has some for sale at $25 including coils:

No. The ones he has are for a 98. The more you describe this, the more it sounds like a bad crank shaft position sensor. It will shut you down once in a while, but as it gets worse it will happen more frequently.
