Brighter headlights?
My headlights are not very bright, are there any other bulbs that I can get that will increase my night time vision? Thanks.

Go with Sylvania Cool Blue'*. They're not really blue, but a brighter wavelength of white. Gets you about 20%. They use a blue optical coating on the bulb itself to filter out the yellower wavelength in typical headlamps (trust a guy who works with lasers and optics to know this). They're also one of the few aftermarket lamps that are entirely street legal. Just save the little blue info sheet that comes in the package, and show that to a cop if they ever give you ****. The neat thing about 'em is that you can actually see the dark, wet roads better. You don't get road blind from your own lights that way.

I'm using the cool blues right myself....way brighter than stock bulbs! NOTE: don't go for those cheap plasma whites though....they're more money than the cool blues BUT are the same brightness!

Yup. The brightness is regulated by our governments.....some **** about oncoming traffic needing to be able to see.....sylvania kept the lumens the same, but improved the wavelength for better light. Al is right, don't go cheap. Sylvania cool blue or nothing. You'll like 'em, so just buy all 4 to start with, save yourself a trip back to the store!

While on the topic of bulbs....has anybody found brighter driving light bulbs? I mean not the longer element version that destroys your lens either, but a real brighter bulb that'* the stock element length! :?

That'* actually on my list (you should see the list ), sortof. I was looking for YELLOW bulbs for the driving lights, to turn 'em into real foglights in the winter. We get a bitch of a fog in the valley here, then I'd switch 'em back late spring. Finding yellow halogens is a trick, but brighter? I dunno, I usually leave 'em on....probably as much or more than SSEi95. If they were brighter, I wouldn't be able to
While we're on this topic, can you give me the 8 digit for the lights on a 93 SSE? Jseabert'* are both shot. Corroded, shattered lens covers. I wanna run 'em by gmpartsdirect before we go steal 'em from a GP at the junkyard. Might be worth it to go new if my PMV was any indication

Thanks for the imput guys! I've never seen Sylvania cool blues before, any idea where I'd be able to pick them up? The local parts stores don't seem to carry them. BTW I'm in Toronto Canada

Easy to find on the net, and most of my local stores carry them......almost every one that carries the standard Sylvania headlamps.....They're just in a light blue package instead of the blue or purple they normally come in. DeathRat, did you buy yours in Canada, or are they 'slightly illegal' there? I know in Oregon, and most other states, they're almost the ONLY aftermarket brighter legal replacement, but Canada might not be that way. BB, have you actually LOOKED or did you just call? Most parts stores might not even know there'* a difference, and they could be just sitting on the shelf.
BTW, when it comes time to change 'em, you gotta love the Bonnie even more! NO TOOLS! :P
