Default Another one bites the dust....

Well a nice low mileage bonnie has bitten the dust. I hit a deer yesterday morning at
65mph. The estimate to repair with used parts was $3,000. I figure I could do it for
around $500 if I had the time, which I really don't. I will post pics soon, maybe
tonight. The car almost made it to 80k miles. The bad part is I just did a Mobil 1 sythetic
change (as always) the night before and filled it up with $32 of gas. The good news
is that it stayed under the edge of the hood and the bumper took most of the impact,
so I wasn't injured!

I haven't seen any other low mileage bonnies that I would be interested in, so it may be
time for an S10 or Ranger, maybe an el camino

I'll keep everyone up to date!

Damn, that sucks man. Is the car still driveable?

I know kinda quick, but are you planning on getting rid of the car? Parting it out? etc..

And my transmission is going. The head gasket failure was my fault.. so you can just say i'm an idiot and caused it.

They are old, and there are tens of thousands of our cars, and BC just has a small percentage of these generation cars. Unfortunately things go wrong.

What about you el capetan? What about your stereo? . It'* all in the eye of the beholder and how much the car is worth to them.

chock another one up, the car left my dad stranded at work last night. He got a ride home from a co-worker, woke up early this morning to get back to the car to fix it, and I haven't seen him since yay for no-starts!

The car is still driveable, it did not reach the radiator. It took out the drivers side fender, headlight, turnsignal, and the composite peice all of that mounts on. It also needs a new hood.

I am either going to just go to the yard and have a technicolor beater, let the ins. company have it, or part it out. If I do part it, OSG, you should just take the whole engine and tranny assembly. It was owned by an old guy before me that had the oil changed every 3k miles, tranny every 15k and I have continued that pattern with sythetic fluids

Still waiting to hear from the adjuster about what will be next.. stay tuned

It is an LE I believe, if you are interested for more than my buy-out price from the insurance company we can work something out, it should have no problem driving back to your place, just no blinker or headlight on the driver'* side front. Time to do a little car/truck shopping!
