Default acting very funny..update.. its not the ecm....

my car has been acting very funny for several days.. when i go to leave a stop sign or redlight the car will surge.. it will almost feel like as if it is missing or if its running out of gas.. and when the car does the the service engine light blinks on and off so fast like a strobe light untill the car startes running right..

now i ran the code scanner several times and all i get is code 44 for a lean exhaust..

if it is my computer what year and model'* would work with my 88 sse... ? thanks

and if not what else could it possiblly be.?

I am not sure what else to tell you

when i step on the gas it redlines at 6500 or more untill i let off the gas.. and its been doing this for 2 or more months now... so what kinda issue does that sound like if you might no.?

i think your tach is off for starters. I had a problem with the tach in my 93 SE. It looked like a 6000K shift, but i'm pretty sure it wasnt.

this my explain why my rpm needle gets stuck sometimes at far redline as i tcan go and stays there untill i bang on the tach :? also sometimes my my moh needle will stay at 10-15 mph while im sitting still at a red light. or it will jump back and forth from 10-20 mph and stay there untill i step on the gas.. very rarley will the gas needel get stuck.. and i also replaced every part of my abs system and i still cant get the abs light to go off..

would a bad ecm cause the gauge to act like this or is it possible that my ecm and gauge cluster are bad.?

LOL. It would be just about impossible to bring an LN3 to that speed and actually have it still run afterwards. The rotating mass in those engines is so great, it'd rip itself apart.

Definitely try replacing the ECM with another from any other LN3 car, what Don said.
