Default Need to locate Relay

I have a relay which needs to be plugged back into a black two rung terminal strip located behind the glove compartment. I pulled it without noticing where it was located. Can someone provide me with a diagram to locate that relay. The terminal strip is black and has two relays plugged into it (one being the horn relay). I assume the relay plugs somewhere into that terminal strip. Would appreciate some help.

Thanks

1988 Bonneville

Did you ever get this fixed? I saw a diagram of a '93 that made it look like the only two relay positions were in the right-most column one up and two up from the bottom. Fuses have two contacts but relays always (?) have to use 3 or more contacts.

Do you mean the panel will have two relays once you get this one plugged back in, or it already has 2 relays and this is a third relay you are certain goes into that relay box?

I have an '88 Olds 88 that is probably the same as yours... if you're still around to view the topic let me know and I'll check it. I can't remember for sure but I thought there were markings on the panel itself or on a sticker, did you use a strong flashlight to see if you can find markings? If I don't have any I can at least note the fuse and breaker positions.

The other way of attacking this is figure out what electrically doesn't work or use the cheater method of plugging and replugging till you can't find anything that doesn't work. Plugging a relay into a relay socket that never gets energized because you don't have that equipment in the car is not a problem, just be sure you aren't forcing a round peg into a square hole so to speak, that you can see it fits right where you put it before the power is back on.

Where is the blower fan relay on a 1991. My fan will not shut off when I turn car off. Is this the problem. Everything else about the system works just fine. I have looked everywhere. The wireing diagarm shows it and I even bought the part. It has to be there. But where?

Don you might want to start a new topic. The relay is probably in the relay box, 4th from the left on the bottom row. The relay box is bound to be in one of four locations.

- Behind glovebox (probably not, I am assuming that is the fuse box)
- Drop-down panel next to steering column -OR- under dash visible if laying on floor with a flashlight and dash bottom ~horizontal panel is taken off driver'* side.
- Side of dash panel, visible with door open (probably not on your model)
- Box on side of engine compartment -OR- relays out on a bracket next to air filter box.

What does the relay look like? If it'* a huge black plastic blob with a clip or bracket on it, it is probably on a bracket under the hood. If it'* a small metal one it is probably in the relay box accessed in the passenger compartment.
