Default 88 le sabre fuel pump

Okay, so this is the deal. I thought i had to change the fuel pump in my 88 lesabre. What was happening was when i tried to start it, it would crank almost turn over then nothing because it was not getting gas. So the guy who gave me the car told me its the pump. Anyways moving on to yesterday afternoon i give her another try and no starting just cranking. So i jack up the car let her rest on jack stands was about to get ready to drop the tank so i can get the pump out but then i realized this thing has half a tank in it. So my buddy who was helping me had one of those special hoses to take gas out of the tank so we went to go get we were gone for like half an hour max. We get back and then just for the hell of it i try and start it and i hear the pump prime and she starts right up and i was like wtf? so i thought maybe the elevation of the car had to do with that so i turn it up drop it back down on 4 wheels and she still starts over and over again. Now the only thing that is worrying me a bit is that when the car is running and you are sitting in the car you hear a humming sound. Now is it normal for the pumps in these cars to hum that loud do any of you have the same issue of that ?

I usually don't notice my fuel pump noise once the engine is running, the engine noise covers it.
Aftermarket inline pumps like racers use are annoyingly loud, is it possible someone has replaced the stock type pump with an inline style?

Default pump

Put some fuel cleaner in her and check the electrical connectors.

another thing i forgot to mention is that the car only has 139,xxx km on it. thats pretty freaking low for an 88 i am not exactly sure what that is in miles. but do fuel pumps usually go when the car has low k'* like that ? like everyday i go check on it and its starting right up today i actually moved it and the only thing i noticed is the hum got a bit louder when i was pushing the gas for the car to move
