I just got an 88 boneville with 72,00 miles on it. car ran good for first 1400 miles then died 8 times in 1 day and started smoking. I have change IAC valve, pcv valve, air filter, plugs and cables, fuel system chip and did a fuel injection cleaning. White smoke come out really bad when I idle. Stopped doing it for about 12 miles after changing the chip for the fuel system out of idea'* maybe egr valve? or 02 sensor?
thanks

Does the smoke have a slightly sweet smell? If so, it'* coolant. The lower intake manifold gasket may have gone bad. Is Or it is more likely the UIM. Remove the throttle body and look in the intake. Do you see coolant? Also, pull the spark plugs. I'll bet their fowled with coolant.

I fixed the problem it was actually a chip that went bad so the car was just running too rich. Then i cleaned the fuel injection system pretty good because there was alot of carbon build up. thanks
