Well, it'* an H body, so it should fly. I think things are close enough to work. Jr, are the motor and trans mounts in the same location in both your cars?

Distances between the strut towers is identical, from radiator to firewall would be the same, also.....I have actual dimensions........just need to look it up. If you want the numbers for space comparison, I'll hook you up when I get home in an hour or so.

I think you can do it if you get everything. Mounts maybe, motor, trans, wiring harness, pcm, etc for sure.

Talk about the ultimate sleeper!

Well, it looks like there'* slightly more room in your 90 than a 96 under the hood. It doesn't look like anything will interfere (I have all the underhood dimensions for 82-99). You may have to take the engine mounts and weld them into yours. Hard to tell from my breakdowns. Yes, you can do it.

Heads and a bigger intake. port and polish from beginning to end and you will be fine.

The transaxles can be made to handle it cheaply if its not to far-gone.

Swapping is always fun and it feels instant when discussing it but there is alot of work involved. So if you are ready to do or pay for the labor then I would swap in a newer engine. I have alot of experience ripping apart the engine and driveline and time required with back yard tools. If you take it slow and get a bit of help once in awhile then you can do it in about 3 days. Once you get faster it can be done in about a day but it never pays to rush a swap. also you will be crossing over electronics so I would figure that portion out first.

Both operations will cost about the same.
Around $2000.00

Luckily my uncles know alot about that stuff. I say with the whole drivetrain, my front end fixed and the whole car repainted it'll cost me $1500 - $2000. That'* with some family help. the parts will cost me $1000 at the most so I think the labor will cost under a $1000. Good thing I know some people. I might be taking a few other things like maybe the seats and the center counsel seat controls. I will have two doner cars for the job a 90 sse for the front end parts and the interior and a 96 SSEi for the drivetrain.

You might run into problems with a 96 for seats. I know the 92-94 used a different seat rail than the 95 and up. There were some changes. Check that bolt pattern first.

Or just get some Corbeau or Sparco seats rails made SPECIFICALLY for the Bonneville.

Ty

This thread has kinda gone off in another direction. I just wanted to clarify what you can help with.

Is it...

Hello, sorry to butt in, but I wanted to know how difficult would it be to take the whole drivetrain out of a 96 Bonneville SSEi and put it in a 90 SE. The car it'* from is pretty much totaled and my friend wants only a couple hundred dollars for the whole drivetrain with the computer and wire harness.
Or, my original question

about pumpin up to 200HP?

Thx.
