Thanks for the advise. some of the things that i had done when i first got the car was change the plugs/wires, fuel filter and air filter. I'm a little concerned about going to a mechanic and haveing him check out the engine because i already had midus try and screw me out of $300 for a new cat. Other than that i haven't looked into the engine that much. one thing that has been bothering me for some time now, when i first start up the car it idles at a really high rpm (my tach is broken so i dont know the exact #) and sometime it will reach 3rd gear without me even pressing the gas. I'll try and get a pic up once i 1) learn how and 2) finish some of the body work. she isnt much to look at right now, she has the skunk thing going on with the paint peeling off.

the vin # is 3. when i first got the car it didnt start at all. i had a mechanic start it for me and it has been starting fine ever since. as for disconnecting the battery, iv done that so many times i dont think that will fix it. im not sure if it is supposted to do this but whenever i turn the ignition the service engine soon light comes on for a second and then goes out. the only other time it has come on was wehn my altinator blew. ill try disconnecting the negative just for the hell of it but i dont think that is it.

Check the plugs, and replace the O2 sensor, also.

I checked out the throttle while the engine was slowly getting to its normal idle speed (it only does this for about 5 min and then idles at 800-1000 rps for the rest of the day). the throttle didnt move at all. the lines looked good too. im not sure where the idle air controler is so i will look in my repair guide and check it out. i will probably have the mechanic look at it when i get my brakes done. i tried disconnecting the battery again while hooking up the spoiler light and its still the same.

i actually found it on ebay. i was lucky to have checked ebay when i did cuz iv only seen 2 online in the last year. only problem, the spoiler is white and the car is red so it will look funny until i get it painted.

i did see one in a junkyard near me. its a little broken but i think it can be salvaged. ill keep an eye open when i go looking for fenders.
