Well here'* the damage
Well when I got home I removed the paint transfer on the hood. I hoped by the look, that it was mostly paint, but I guess it'* mostly scratches. I had planned to just buff it out and see if the insurance company would pay me rather than having it repainted. But it looks bad enough that I'm going to verify tomorrow that they would pay for a repaint.

What I believe (it was dark) was a license plate got kicked up by a car in front of me this morning. It skidded off the hood and landed on the windshield. Thankfully the insurance agent said it would be covered by comprehensive, which I have a zero deductible for. Now I just have to find out what they will actually pay for. I'm hoping a repaint, not just a buffing. I think it may be too deep for that.

I did, but the dealer repainted it as part of our deal. But they did a crappy job, only repainting a little part under the hood so I've been worried that it will come back. So I am hoping I can get a complete repaint of the hood to take care of that as well.

I've had nothing but bad luck with my paintings. About a year ago some big *** truck was carrying a tractor that was literally just blowing rocks off of it on the highway. One of them hit my hood putting a hole in it almost to the bottom, also cracked the windshield. Had to take it to a shop to fix it up. They sucked major ***. Looked like they purposely messed it up.
