Telescopic Magnet tool..??
Need recommendations for a telecopic tool that has a strong magnet on it and maybe even a light on the end to find and pick up those hard to reach bolts & bits and such...that I never drop...

I found that Snap On has One listed for $17
Pick Up Tool, LED, Magnetic, Telescoping
Maybe also try to find a flexible end type one as well that can curve..
What do you guys have for recovery /pick up tools?

I don't think my car has claimed any bolts yet, so I have not invested in one of those, but it'* on the to get someday list, lol
I am not sure just how powerful of a magnet you need on it, I imagine not too powerful if it is just for bolts..
Grainger has a lot of them listed, I did not see any with a LED light like that one though.

Not just for bolts William. It seems every time I work on the vehicles I drop something into a hot or hidden place.
Yesterday for instance I was tightening the battery post on a friends truck with a stubby wrench & it went flying! I guess I should have used a socket...LOL..
Knowing my luck probably would have lost that too! Dont even ask what happened to the T-20 bit on the IAC...
That snap on can handle 8 lbs apparently..that'* great, as it could recover a wrench etc.
Going to start with that and while I'm at the Mobil Snap On truck again probably next weekend, will ask if they got something with telescopic curve as well.

i wouldnt go crazy, i have a couple. the problem though is everything you are snaking it around is magnetic too, you dont want something that has that much power and a head that is going to get sucked into the other stuff you are trying to get it around. i just have ones from the parts store or harbor freight, works fine. i also have the grabber type sometimes you need that too, i loose stuff all the time its good to have both.

Ya if I can see some words all right if it sticks to everything trying to get at the lost piece!
According to Snap on "Newly designed steel magnetic head lifts 8 pounds and shields the sides from attaching to unwanted metal surfaces"
I will believe it when I try it out! I see a review on that scenario soon though.
