I stopped by Autozone, and it turns out they're scanners can't read sensors while the engine'* running. I looked at a new IAC to see if it could be moved easily, but it'* just like mine. The guy at Autozone looked up a way to test the IAC by checking resistance across its terminals. The readings on mine were 55 and 54 ohms, well within the 40-80 ohm acceptable range. I stumbled on another thread Danthurs had created with diagnostics for hard starting or starting then dying. Once my car cools off I'll check the IAT and ECT sensors for consistency, as well as look for corrosion.

I went ahead and measured resistance of the IAT and CTS. I couldn't get my multimeter'* fat leads on the CTS'* leads, so I don't know what its resistance is, BUT, the IAT'* resistance kept bouncing back and forth between .5 and 1 ohm. Kind of like, erratically. Something it'* not supposed to do. I think I'm gonna try finding one and see what happens.

Alright, so after school I grabbed an IAC, stuck it on, and sure enough it started right up and idled perfectly. $28 at Autozone. Thanks for the help you guys!

Well, I think my car'* playing games with me. Today it threw a P0742 code, TCC stuck on. So after the guy at Autozone gives me the printout, I walk out, start up the car, and it dies. I start it up again with a little gas and I have the same problem as before, the darn thing won't idle. I was in the middle of doing a couple things, so I just kind of went on with my business, but I'm hoping the IAC I bought is defective. I'm gonna try getting that exchanged, but any ideas aside from the IAC that might cause the lack of idling? I'm tempted to change the ECT sensor since it has 210,000 miles, looks nice and corroded on the outside, and a lot of guys change these out on early C4 Vettes (something I acquired at the end of summer).
