Transmission control
sooooooo one of those little things I kinda mentioned to Dr Jay but never really looked into.... and I figure if we can get a good solid answer alot of ppl into making good hp numbers may benefit
so Here it is.... is it possible to run an electronic Trans in a non electronic trans car... using the stock electronic trans cars PCM as a "stand alone" and feeding it the few sensor readings it may need to be happy... maybe a custom chip with the non important engine info "turned off"?
basically in MY case I'm pre 3800 .. and I'm not swapping to a 3800... I'm turboing my 3.8 ...now the hp numbers I'm looking at ... will destroy the 4T60 ... but with the parts available aftermarket a 4T65E HD should take it with little to no problems .... but I would have to have the 4t65E HD'* PCM standing alone ... with just enough sensor input from the engine and car to run the trans... ... the original ECM will be running the engine...
so heres some questions we need answered.... what sensors does the trans NEED to function? keep the "don't bother" and "you can't do that" to yourselfs... I just want good honest info.... everytime someone tells me I can't do something.... I just try harder
On the flip side of this..... Can a 4t65E HD be converted to run like the hydrolic? with vacum and cable input?
Thanks guys...

I can already tell you.. "you can't do that"! loL! Actually, I think you would need a custom PCM, because without ALL sensors talking to the PCM, it will get angry, and poof! SES light.
I highly doubt you can convert an electronic trans back to hydraulic.

I kinda figured it can be done.... atleast is sounds like it can.... I really don't care if the engine side of the PCM flips out.... as long as such flipping out does not effect the trans operation
but back to the info search. what sensors does the Trans need to work?
tps?, vss?, rpm?
