You want our opinion on the topic or something?

My opinion is don't do it. Although it is basically the cheapest horsepower you can buy, it isn't safe, and it isn't good for your engine, plugs, etc... Its your car do what you want, but I would rather buy expensive performance parts and make the power without the help of that stuff. If I was trying to go really fast (10'* or faster) I may consider it, but that would be an all out racecar anyways.

How much is NOS anyway? I've always wondered. I'll never get it. But rice usually gets it so they can have a way to beat us, and because they have to make up for all the weight they added to their cars from the wing, body kit, etc, etc., that slow their farty a$$e$ down.

If you go Nos buy NX. Really I can’t stress enough the problems you can encounter with a crapy system. Nos is fun and good to get a little extra flow. If you have a non sc car a upper and lower manifold with a nos kit would work but once again you will eat your engine faster if you do not build it throughout for such a kit. I can get you prices and suggested information from some of the best Nos runners and builders in California. I can and do beat Jegs prices.

I would suggest setting yourself up with a build plan.

Decide what you want in the end. Nos is in the bottle so it requires a fill and there is nothing like having to refill when you want to blow away some guy with a house payment worth of fuzzy math under the hood.

I suggest deciding if you want to rebuild it now or build slowly and rebuild it later as you thrash it.

Either will work with any mod but this choice will dictate the first mod and the stages to go in.

You will want to first know exactly what condition your engine is in regardless if you go Nos or not.

Just be careful who you listen to and who you get your information from.

I own a store so I am bias so is a guy who has almost every product from my store or from any other store. Do your research so you are sure. I have guys who swear by NOS and others who go ground up with a new SC. Neither is better unless you have decided so based on your research. Remember to be realistic about the cash and install requirements as well. Lol I sell a lot of lower intake manifolds to guys who contact me later saying they had no idea what they were buying.

If you want to talk to a real person I will be glad to share any info I can regardless of what you buy.

Ty

You wouldn't want the laughing gas pooling in your Supercharger too... You have that already so get a thermostat nice intake, exaust, plugs/wires, a new pulley, and then start thinking about the other stuff. Everything but the pully is pretty much required for big stuff, and the pulley will get you a lot. After that you will prob be content for a while. With the plugs and wires, an ignition box by MSD is also a big thing around here recently.

This topic gets very heated sometimes, not really on this forum but in reality with people I've talked to. Don't go dry, I did...mistake. Too late to care.

Personally I think nitrous is a great thing for the guy who only cares about straight lines and doesn't street race. Yeah I have used my nitrous on the street and for testing purposes in the past, but for the previous month I havn't touched the stuff. I save it for the track now.

Nitrous eats not only the engine but also the tranny. Simple.

I'm going to have to rebuild or drop in another 3800 sometime, I accept that. And you must accept that as well if you go for nitrous.

It is kinda neat to just push a button or have it hooked up to your pedal, but that kinda money can get you a lot of other parts too, maybe a rebuilt supercharger???
