BOSE pioneers electromagnetic suspension
Just as the title says. Bose has engineered a system that perfects suspension. Perfectly smooth, but also tuned for aggresive drivers. Take a look at the quick-time vids, found on the right side, midway down the page under the "Applied Learning" link.
This has got to be one of most innovative ideas since, ... , well, I don't know, traction control and anti-lock brakes!!! If I knew I could pick this suspension up for under $1000 [LAUGH], I'd do it in a heartbeat!!!

It'* nothing special. Mountian Bikes by K2 were doing this on a smaller level in 98. The Bonneville CCR does it to an extent, but nothing too crazy. The Z51 corvettes have active suspension that works along the same lines. Introduced last year for the 50th model, standard on 50th models, option on all base, and not available for z06, because it'* more weight.

Let me ellaborate:
Unlike the covette Magnetic Selective Ride Control/F55 suspension, Bose doesn't use fluid. Because Bose doesn't use fluid, it can offer an even faster response rate, and is truly a pioneer of this technology.
The other neat thing is that the struts become giant electromagnets. Just as in a speaker (hence Bose), they can absorb energy and create it. Therefore, the suspension works like those hybrid cars that generate power and store it when you're braking. Because it does this, it uses, and I quote from Bose'* site, "less than 1/3 the power of most cars' air conditioning systems."
Also keep in mind this technology has been around for some 20 years, but Bose didn't have a way to utilize it effectively as there were no electronics powerful enough to run the algorithms.

yeah, it'* pretty sweet. apartantly, it'* used on subs now, as they can easily dampen the sounds they make from the speaker, whereas the typical compressor setup was much harder to keep quiet on the outside...
