i want more power for my 01 SE
alright so heres the deal, i want more power in my 01 bonneviille SE.
ive known since i started being a bonneville nut that the SSEi has a different engine as far as if i wanted to throw a supercharger on my SE, it wont work right.
i know i will be replacing the exhaust, so it can breathe better, but has anyone used a performance chip? what do they exactly do? and are there any recomended brand of chips i should buy?
I want to do this right and not screw up my engine.
thanks

Chips can do a variety of things, like removing the speed limiter, raising shift points, etc. I'm actually not familiar of performance chips for the 2000+ models. But you could get a custom PCM from Intense racing instead. 'Performance' PCMs are easily available for the Series 2 engines, both NA and SC.
But you should at least gut your airbox or replace your stock airbox with an open cone filter CAI (cold air intake). Some quick searches for "Intake" and "gutting airbox" under 'Performance and Brainstorming' will give you tons of info. Opening up the exhaust is good, but if you don't do the intake with it, it'* not as beneficial.
