Stage one mods . Whats next ?
I have almost ( except for the pulley it'* on the way ) completed what I have determined is stage 1 modifications for my 1992 SSEI. In the last week I have purchased
1. 2,2 inch pulley for the M62
2. the bigger idler pulley
3. Autolite 104 plugs ( one step colder from stock)
4. Beldin wires
5. 180 degree drilled thermostat
6. Rice pipe with a K&N filter ( the sticky version )
7. Removed the mass air screen
8. A new PCM WITHOUT the chip. ( 200 bucks for the Jet Chip :? ? )
9. Ported my exhaust headers .... not by choice but I had them off and started grinding.
10. Installed the hotter 1998 SC'd Delco igition system
11. Tweeked my TPS ... it was off bad ...
12. Installed High flow cat ( old one was toast ... I'm not into spending money for no reason )
Whats the next step ? I'm not into big bucks stuff as this is my toy. I wish to keep the internals stock as possible.

It looks like you got all the bolt on options installed. Theres not much else you can do perfomance wise without digging into the engine. You could do some extra cooling like Willwren has.

BTW .. these mods were all less than 400 bucks. Yeah, I got a few deals ( ignition system ) but most of them were from the local parts store. I've got a total ( including purchase price ) of about 936.00 invested. A little knowledge goes a long way.
THANKS GUYS !

What about an awesome custom exhaust from Borla? Should run you about $600 or so but that would be totally awesome.

The SSEI exhaust looks like it will flow well. How many ways can you run a 2.5 inch pipe?
Also... I'm a cheep bas&^%d and I'm not going to spend the big buck'* just for sound. I want flow numbers and burnouts ....

If you're going for power, go magnaflow, they're a little better, But IMO it'* just not worth the sound on N/A. */C seems to do quite well with it.

dont replace the piping, as it is already mandrel bent. You will be wasting your time. Make sure you get a heatshield on that pipe!

your exhaust should be alright for your mod level ... (good to see someone got a nice exhaust from the factory ) ...I would suggest .. chip, hood vent, trans cooler, oil cooler, b&M trick shift in the trans, and wrap all the exhaust and intakepiping in your engine bay.
the chip will help accent the bolt ons you have nicely, the trick shift ofcourse will help your shifts and tranny life... and the rest will help with underhood temps keeping your engine nice happy longer and stop it from pulling power from heat.

I agree with the plug call. Go one heatrange only.
Explain something to me......you bought a new PCM without the chip? Why? Was the old one bad?
And a chip would be nice, but even Jet doesn't make one. That Jet will seriously wake up your car in a BIG way. It'* similar enough to the 93, that if you give Jet the codes off the label on the PCM, they may have a burn for you.
I'd chip before any other mods except for perhaps finishing the exhaust. A resonator and Magnaflow F-body muffler will sound awesome. Again, you're not getting the most out of that nice list without the chip. You're holding yourself back a bit.
And later on, consider trying to swap in the 93 valvetrain.
