Default Will larger fuel injectors hurt me? or Downpipe?

To send my injectors into FIE I'm looking at just over $150 total.

For just $90 more I can get Lucas 42.5LB Fuel Injectors.

Will they hurt me? I'm planning on an INTENSE PCM with stock shift points and everything stock except for EVAP Code Delete and thats about it.

I will run the stock fuel pump as well as everything stock, the INTENSE PCM will be very minimal as far as the tune goes in order to save the trans for as long as I can, it is in serious need of 1st/2nd/3rd gear clutches really bad.

Also will they fit without any modifications, AKA are they the same size and height of the stock fuel injectors?

I'm not sure if I will do more mods like rockers+headers or cam+headers but for now it will just be a daily driver with a 3.3" and supporting mods. (I run 0* of KR on a 55* day with a 3.4)

I'm also replacing my cat soon, would I lose bottom end doing a DP? I'm looking to shave everything I can off the 1/4 but keep it close to stock as possible.

There is no power in larger injectors. And you aren't outflowing your stockers.

Fuel injectors by themselves are NOT a power-adder. Leave the stockers in your car.

Hans..some people cam and put on a Gen V with stock injectors. Most likely they have to upgrade, but that'* a big difference in flow versus a 3.4.

Stick with your stockers, your pluse width and O2'* will tell you when it'* time to move up for new injectors.

As for the 3.3".. you might be able to run it for a while...but it'll be short with summer coming up.

Downpipe, yes you will notice a slight loss of low end. It'* not a large difference though. (remember..I've got a 3" dp, with PEM'* and the DP there was a slight difference).

In your shoes.. concentrate on the items that need to be brought up to speed for speed and power. Brakes, suspension, cooling system check, and transmission. The power adders are no good if you can't put the power to the ground.

Stay with the 3.4, and get the 3" DP. It'* proven to be a good set of mods. A 3.3 is very risky considering you are only going to have the basic Intense PCM. You'll need a good tune to be able to run that 3.3 safely. You have 0* KR now. That'* something to be happy with.

No noticeable TQ loss for me with my DP and PEM'*, BTW.

They won't hurt as long as the PCM is set up for them. If you are not hitting over 85% duty cycle on the stock ones they won't help either.

Keep in mind when FIE is done with the stock ones they will be balanced to a gnat’* whisker, the Lucas ones will not. Depending on the vender they would be +/- 5% at best.

Hans, if you go the flow-matched stocker route, which I agree you should, when do you think you'll send yours in? I might buy a set from Boosty...maybe even send in mine too...so we can get a bigger pool.

The S2 L67 pool is plenty big already. That'* the best selection you have. Pick your time and go for it.

Cool, thanks. Last time I asked I wasn't sure it was all that big. Boosty, you might get a PM soon
