I'm tearing apart as much as I have to.
So far I'm half way there.
Front end is just about torn off. Took off cooling system, and all engine front accessories tonight. Interior is all out.
My next challenge is pulling the steering wheel to replace the ignition key cylinder. You can start it without a key right now.....can't have that.
I'm almost afraid to drop the engine pan for fear of what I might see. I have discovered that the oil filter is trapped by the headers, so I'm not sure if the previous owners have ever changed it.
The dipstick tube was broken off at the engine and only the stick was holding it in place.....how did he ever accurately check the level. More oil on the outside of the engine than in it.
The alternator bracket was broken and so when the engine was running, it vibrated like crazy.
