Well I must speak up here! ADTR is NOT the only place to get intakes! Domestic Performance has had them too! Don't believe me? check out the date this product was added to DP'* site! http://domesticperformance.com/shop/...roducts_id/155
Now don't get me wrong Hector or Will here, ADTR has a nice intake (or so I hear) but I haven't seen ANY pics of it yet? Just because Hector is an Admin here & Will is Hector'* Test Car Owner doesn't mean by any chance that you guys are the ONLY ones out there selling this stuff! Ty'* been around the block too for quite some time & is one of my closest friends to boot! I don't like seeing his "name" trashed through the dirt either.
I was going to keep this a little secret until the time was right, but, because of this thread, I'm telling you ALL now that I too am getting into the Performance Parts business! In fact, my own Performance Parts Store has been in the works for some time now & will soon be online too in the next coming months! My beliefs are simple, I believe in ONE STOP SHOPPING! By this I mean, 1 Site that has a forum & parts store based strictly on Performance upgrades for the 87+ H Body & 97+ W Body owners! So beware boys! There'* a new kid on the block now too and I'm gunning for a share of the market too! AS for products available? Name it & I'll get it! Plain & simple!

Umm.... ok, no one is stopping you. And I always let people know about the intakes for 2000+ Bonneville'* and foward them to Ty because he has one now. And even for drop springs and other misc parts that Ty is doing, I always foward them. If you join that'* fine by me, but I have a store up now with the best prices I can find. And we don't charge that much for intakes, I will have them done soon, just been problems with people outside of ADTR boundaries. Ok, go get a share of the market, but we don't just do Bonneville'*, we do alot more than you think.

Hector! I'm not trying to start a war here. My intention was to let others know that others have intakes too for Bonnevilles! I admit my reponse might have been a little "hot-headed" but, I don't like mis-information being posted by anyone. As for my store it'* being designed not to compete but to allow my forum'* members one stop shopping. I'm gearing my products to mostly Cdn'* & Local clubs but leaving the prices in USD for easier comparison with other sites.

Sounds good to me, I am sure you will offer products at better prices for Canadian Bonneville owners because of the current money exchange rate. And you will offer other products that I might not get, we are aiming more towards performance and I am sure you can offer more non-performance Bonneville parts that we wouldn't normally offer. But we do offer alot more stuff, just have to contact us or check out the main ADTR page. But we will be making intakes for the 2000+ Bonneville'*, and our prices are hard to beat since I am aiming our cat-back exhaust'* at $300 level and more products that will be insane and no one else has thought of. Check out what one of our project car'* sound like, and no it'* not a V8, its still a V6.

I am not in a war per say but I will now post the intake and other product I have had available for about a year now. Yes I have waited and was very excited about furthering other product makers. But I have waited a long time. Many times I have said I am basically a store not a developer so I really stayed out of the race. There is alot of options available and I will offer the best quality as my store says and continue to work with the product producers that will offer expertise and high quality product. The company who provides me with intakes makes custom units to speck and the turn around is around a week or less. Depends on the shipping option you chose. When Hector does finally offer his product to be sold through my store I will offer it…But until then I figure it is time to let this vacuum in on the other options available.

Now as for the environment of the Internet. I have noticed in the GP and now the Bonneville forums a sheep like following of what they have been fed. Careful this can lead to misinformation. I have found the best way to get the facts is to find the pros and ask. Talk to reputable builders and engineers. I base all my research on more than one opinion I base it on 5 well-established engineers and racers. I will post some information regarding intakes and a few other bits of information but please do not take my opinion or others as a final solution because unless you do the research with reputable builders you will find you are fooling yourself into buying shiny objects. I will start posting my shiny intake options today and be glad to follow up answering any questions about the product and its merits and other important information. If you want a cheaper option for any product I or anyone else offers I will be glad to help you find it. As it stands I offer special deals for Bonneville forum members and if you contact me I usually provide you better pricing than posted on the site.

I know Alan will be providing some great options on his Bonneville attitude site that are exclusive to him and I was lucky enough to here about them so I figure for the customer things are going to get better. As for information I am going to keep to myself unless I figure I can help or if the information is such a damnation of fact that I have to say something.

Intakes:
Aluminum 195.00
Steel powder coated 150-170 depending on who you go to with
Chrome 75.00
There are stainless steel options as well.

Ty

Al, nobody was trashing Ty'* name. He'* a friend of mine, too. The ADTR intake pics were posted and available for quite some time. Most of us saw them. I personally wasn't aware of DP'* intake. That'* why I always suggest the ADTR. I also know alot of Hector'* personal time and expense went into developing and testing these. I purchase from BOTH Ty and Hector. Nobody is playing favorites or trashing anyone. It'* never been that way, and it never will be that way. All of our vendors will receive equal treatment here. The only reason I have Hector'* test car logo (ok, sort of a joke), is that we're working on a couple joint development projects right now. Ok, more than a couple. Heck, if I wanted to, I'm sure Ty would let me put a DP test car on my sig, too. I rode the first pair of RSM slotted rotors, and I even took the pic in my living room for his store.

My point here is that I don't see anyone bashing anyone. Especially between Hector and Ty. Both are major contributors to this site and my friends, to boot. But so are all the rest of the members here, including yourself.

It can be difficult to be a 'resident vendor' and maintain a clean nose on an automotive forum. There'* a delicate balance between giving information and trying to push product. Ty and Hector (and Scott at Intense) have done a great job. To add to their credibility, their prices are rock-bottom, and I know both have sold several times for little or no profit for the betterment of our members, their customers.

I have the highest respect for all of our support, including the non-resident vendors.

Soapbox is now stored for at least a week.[/quote]
