Comparing new ~$200 cameras to 6 year old ~$600 Point and shoots? No comparison. The new ones have better image processing, better CCD sensors, and will probably be more reliable.
Sony'* use of Zeiss lenses is good, once you're up around ~$300, otherwise they don't really mean much, or differentiate from the crowd before then. We have a new Kodak C613 @ work we use for passport photos, it'* so-so.

go to your local Wal-mart and check out their selection of Sony or whatever they have that you're really into.. That'* where mine came from.

I went to a Fry'* Electronics store and looked around. I found a Samsung similar to the one that was mentioned above, but I forgot its model number. dbeast420 sent me a link to an eBay seller'* store, and I found a ton of really cheap stuff there.

My sister used to have a Fuji FinePix Z3, which we bought new for $200, but she lost it. We could get it back for her, probably, since DealTree has one for $40. That'* awesome!
I found this, and I think it might be good at least to get moving with some pictures for my threads here. I'll try to win it, and then I'll continue looking for cameras you guys have suggested. If I can buy that, or another camera for a similar price, I'll raise my budget. I will have some more time ti get a better camera if I could get by with a cheap one just to take a lot of pictures of some things I've wanted to show here.

I just got a brand new Casio 7.2MP digital camera in the mail today. I have no idea how this happened! Who did it?
I just took some pictures, and off I go to take more! This is amazing! It has such nice white balance, and the menu is formidable! Wow! How on Earth does this happen?
This is a Casio Exilim 7.2MP camera, and it accepts SD cards. I already have a 2GB SD card, so this is great! Here'* what the lens are shows:
Exilim Optical 3x
f=6.3-18.9mm 1:3.1-5.9

I asked everyone about it, and no one knows. This thing is awesome! I spent the day taking a few pictures, and it was a lot of fun. Now, back to business!
