Default I hate cops...

Ok here is the story. Me and my friend are out joy riding tonight trying to catch a few bonne'* and GP'* and after screwing around for 1 1/2 hours we pass this street and we see a guy in the middle of the street looking at his truck sitting on 3 wheels. I go WHAAA and we turn around and roll the windows down and asked if he needed help. (Its 23* F and all he had was a windbreaker jacket, alone, Asian, and without a phone) so he said well my wheel came off, can you call a tow truck. I knew that i needed a police officer to come out since he was blocking a one lane street. So i pull ahead and tell him to throw on the flashers, as do I. I call the police and appertly they have received a call already since i call in and they asked me if it was a blue f-150, i agree and tell them my name. 20 minutes later im still talking to this guy about recent changes and he said he had gotten his tires rotated less than 2 months ago. I know it didn't change anything since his rear passenger rotor broke off along with all of the lugnuts. i tell my friend to call the police from his phone. 15 more minutes pass. Still no officer. I saw a cop, WHILE i was calling pass behind us, he didn't even glipse over. So finally one shows up, stays in the car and asks what the problem is. I was ready to scream at him because he couldn't tell a truck is supposed to have 4 wheels and maybe he could get his fat *** out of the car and see what he can do about traffic instead of just sitting there without any lights.

SO i felt like i did my part since i always carry my maglight 3D with me for protection and recently got my Police LED Lithium light that usally blinds people for up to 30 seconds
and i directed traffic and got the long lost police to come.

I snapped a picture to my phone of the hub so ill post as soon as i can get my e-mail password since i forgot it...

You oughta change the title to "I hate DISPATCHERS". And realize that a non-injury, single vehicle accident on a low-traffic street isn't a huge priority, since it can (and should) be dealt with by the vehicle owner.

It really depends around here. The cops in my town are really cool about little things because they actually have real crime to patrol. Some of the neighboring towns are pretty quiet though so the cops out there are pretty much wannabe LAPD and will pull you over and be hardasses if your tire crosses the solid line while entering a turning lane.

A Cop will ALWAYS ask what the problem is when he arrives at the scene so he can get the story from those present, rather than rely on dispatch or a witness that may have called in with bad information.

Was it a wreck? Vandalism? Hit and run? Or just what you described? He doesn't know. His safety awareness also goes up 10 notches after the sun goes down. POLICY in most departments is to either have a backup present or stay in the car and observe the scene before getting out.

I worked in Strategic Planning with a local PD for 2 years and was a Public Safety Commissioner. I take direct offense at your topic title. If you look back in history here, every single topic like yours which ignorantly busts on cops in general gets locked.

He did EXACTLY what the situation dictated according to normal policies. You were VERY low priority. There was no risk to human life, limb, or property.

well it was blocking the road and it wasn't a MAJOR street but it was still busy. there was snow on the ground so luckily there was no accident but there was almost one with a 240 that slid up onto the curb.

and usally i hate officers because all of them around here are really mean. Ive seen only 2 that where actually acting professionals. One of the times 2 officers came out to my house because the neighbors were mad we were driving a 3-wheeler. The driver of the car was SUPER nice and he listened to my questions and the other one talked over him, yelled at me for asking questions until the other cop sais i can handle this..

The only real law enforcement would be the Sheriff department. Ive never seen any mean officers, they always respond quickly, and they act professional. but the down grade is that they do highway work and rarely come into the city.

So it really comes down to: almost 12:00 on a Friday night where there is a TON of cops out, but they are to busy clocking people. I saw at least 15-20 cops within the night but as soon as i call, they all vanish. Maybe if there was an injury or crash maybe they would come faster but after calling over 3 times it gets kinda ridiculous...

You'd be mean too if you were constantly dealing with the crap they do. You just remember those mean cops when they save your *** from a bad situation next time.

Stereotyping for a few bad apples is pretty shallow. There will be zero cop-bashing on this Forum. That'* been a long-standing tradition dating back 5 years, and it isn't being relaxed today.
