I quit my job..(and got rehired again)
Today I put in my letter of resignation/ two week notice for my current employer. I got hired in today at a new company and will be starting on May 15th. I'm nervous as hell. My current job I've been at since I was 16 years old, and now I'm 22. The thing that has me the most nervous is that I have to be willing to relocate if the company needs me to. I've lived in the same town my whole life, so moving to another state has me pretty scared out of my mind, if it came to that.. I'm not the greatest at meeting people, I'll be the first to admit. Some possible locations are in Indiana and Ohio, and possibly other places in Michigan. We'll have to see I guess. For now though I'm secure in my home town for at least four months of training. I now live exactly ONE MILE from work. haha. That should save me a lot of $$ in gas! By taking this position, I will be making $11,000 more annually to START. After four months I should be making around $15,000 more than I currently make. That will be pretty nice.

congrats man! I currently make 20,000/year as the assistant manager at Pizza Hut... I know I know.... But, as of the 15th I'll be making the 31,000 as a manager in Training. Once I get bumped up to a shift manager, it'll be $35,000. It will only go up from the 31k basically, plus bonuses. I know a lot of people would look down at 31k, but to be honest I live a very simple life and don't have a lot of expenditures (minus the cadillac obviously.) I make ends meet nicely and I'm actually very good with money, so 31k can take me pretty far.

Any move that advances your career and pays you more money, is a good one.
Congrats.
Better it was your choice than theirs.
You are wise to change jobs every 5 years or so. I think life long jobs are a thing of the past now.
