Yeah, those deer can really get ya... but you haven't LIVED until you've hit an airborne PHEASANT going 65! Lol, I must say, to see that frenzied flurry of feathers heading toward you and refusing to pull up, it'* one of the most freaky and funny things you can ever witness. I hit one in our big GMC 3500; the thing smacked the left front headlight/corner and flipped up over the windshield. Let me tell you, even in a big pickup that fat-bodied fowl gave us a good jolt!

no airbags? doesnt surprise me. ford runs their airbag crush sensors dead middle of the car, right behind the radiator. if u didnt crush the radiator, no airbags. they also have the smaller fords that if they decelerate too fast <like 35-0 instantly> it deploys them too. but no airbags sounds pretty typical of your situation.

Yep, comprehensive. Unfortunatly my parents recently increased their deductible from 250 to 1000 to save on premiums.

The deer was basically snapped in two at the middle of the ribs.

Mom has an Altima loaner right now.

See, that is the bad thing. I try to tell my customers that they will either pay a little more NOW or a little more THEN and I personally don't want to hear THEN that I have to pay more. I keep my deductibles lowwwww. As a matter of fact on my car I carry a ZERO deductible. For what little I pay for that coverage vs what they would pay me in a deer claim it is money well spent IMHO.

Yeah, I know. They haven't had a claim in probably 20 years for comprehensive. So they up the deductible and smack a deer 6 months later.

I find it hilarious that they actually single out missiles, why not nuclear strike, or bullets, or plastic explosives....

FTR, I had the glorious opportunity to be speeding down a highway at about 75 mph with Kendra (when we first started going out) sometime in October a few years back. I happened to notice a pair of eyes looking back at me and knowing it was a deer, slammed the brakes. Now the brakes of an 84 cutlass are no where near the stopping power of a computer controlled ABS Stabiltrak system such as in my SSEi but I must say they did happen to get the car down to about 30mph before I hit the last of a 6 deer train crossing the road. Popped the grill in and smashed some of the fiberglass on the bumper. Still had a big tuft of deer hair in the seam of the front bumper when I sold it a couple years later.

Let'* just say I'm "LIke a Good Neighbor." We still offer zero comp decuctible but the lowest collision deductible available is 250. I have all the discounts they will give - multi car, multi line, accident free (on my car only- Jeff got his taken away).
