Default Question about coil packs.

I read a post that the coil packs used in the L67 engines produce more current to the plugs, creating a hotter spark. Is this true? If so how? I looked in the Tech section and it shows the resistance reading to be the same for both engines for the model years below.

96-99…....Delco.…….............L67……...…..0.5-0.9.………………..........5.0-8-0

95-99…....Delco..…................L36....……….0.5-0.9....………………........5.0-8.0

The reading are also the same for these two below. How does one produce a hotter spark than the other? Is it from the ICM?

92.5-94....Delco.…….............L27......……. 0.5-0.9....…………..……......5.0-8.0

92-95…....Delco.…….............L67……...…..0.5.-0.9....………………......5.0-8.0

So Is there any difference between them? I'm asking because the coils and a ICM I have on mine are from Advance Auto (coils) and Autozone (ICM) on my 95. Reading some other post it looks like a few of them talk about not using aftermarket coils. I don't feel a miss in my car but the HC levels were high on the emissions test. I found a complete set of coils with the ICM on ebay from a 92 SE for 30$ shipped. I wonder if I should get them or wait to find a set from a SSEi?

Thanks
