Does it have manual 4x4 or shift on the fly 4 wheel drive?

Might want to register and ask your question/search over at www.ExplorerFourm.com

That is the other club I'm active in.

Yes. Remove the hub nut followed by the snap ring then it should slide right off (yeah right - you might need a puller)

Join www.fordtrucks.com you'll find all the help you could ever want there. If you cant find it in the Explorer section, post in the F150 (89-96) section and we'll help ya for sure.

i've got the service manual, i assume front brakes?

1. Raise the vehicle and install safety stands.
2. Remove wheel hub bolt nuts (1012) and the wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Section 04-04.
3. Remove lugnut retainer washer from studs.
4. Remove the manual locking hub assembly.
CAUTION: Do not remove the screw from the plastic dial.
5. Slide internal hub lock assembly, spring and clutch gear out of hub body.
For installation, follow removal procedures in reverse order. Tighten lugnuts to 135 Nm (100 ft-lb).
