Default Goodyear Tire in Grand Rapids, MI, Alpine Ave... RANT

Took the Bonne in to get a slow leak patched, and the tire now leaks WORSE than it did before. Checked it out with some soapy water, and it'* right where they patched it. This was a Goodyear tire, so they guaranteed the plug for the life of the tire. As if I want to spend my time in there while they screw around. I'm about to go buy a patch kit and do this in the street!

They also had the nerve to quote me prices for parts and labor for replacing the front wheel bearings and the cat. The wheel bearings are NOT even bad (I'm certified in front end, yes I know how to check this), nowhere close to being bad. There is a little slop, but it'* not even noticeable unless you've got the car up and are really jerking on the wheel. Nothing noticeable when driving, and I'd know since I've had some go bad. The cat is rattling, which I have been well aware of :p

$790 for the bearings and another $400 for the cat! WTH?! Book time on both bearings is 1.6 hours, but they quoted me for a whole 2.

8 hours of driving to fix supercharger belt problems makes me cranky. See other post for details
Someone'* getting an earful in the morning!

Is it an actual Goodyear store or a privately owned store that sells Goodyear?
I'm not a big fan of company owned chain stores.

Default Repair shop ranting

Not sure, but I can guarantee I'll never set foot in there again.

My favorite place that knows me by name, some strange affiliation with my mom that I can't figure out, is in Greenville. Wittenbach'* on M-91. They've tried many times to rip off my friends.

Here'* an interesting story about that. 1990 Mercury Tracer wagon won't go over 25mph even at WOT. My friend takes it to Wittenbach, they charge her $80 for a phone call because they can't figure out what'* wrong. Then they charge $800 for telling her they tore apart the engine to find out that she has a *coughBScough* wobbly crankshaft *cough*, I made her get it out of there and we replaced the spark plugs, and it was fine.

Amazingly stupid place when it comes to mechanical work, but they've always done tires well for me.
