Are you ever going to pursue it seriously?

Oh, and as for the studying electronics, you'd be surprised how many departments are looking for people with those skills...they might even consider you over another applicant because of them. You could always do part-time depending on work hours at your other job; you'd be set up perfectly if you worked freelance for your main job...something to think about.

You'd be surprised what skills they consider useful (my husband was told that his English degree would come in very handy and might even sway a department to hire him because cops spend so much time filling out paperwork and everyone appreciates someone who does it neatly and with proper grammar! :P ). Cops do so much that is not what we would typically guess; your skills just might get you a great law enforcement career. If you want to know more but are a little nervous about asking in person at a department, go to the law enforcement forum my husband always hangs out on, Officer.com...http://www.officer.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi. They are great guys (though they might bust your balls a little if you hang out there for a little while...just an initiation right of sorts ) and could probably answer any questions you have.
Good luck finding a job...who knows, maybe we'll have to start calling you "Officer L27Buick"!
