I tried to find out exaclty what happened in this accident, but so far had no luck. Here are a couple of more pics of different angles. I dont think the civic had to be parked in order for this to happen. All that it needed is for both drivers to be distracted. Cuz who would want to wreck their car just for fun, unless they were rich.

I think this proves many things: 1) a HumVee CAN run over a civic (and a Mazda RX7--another story), 2) Stupid people shouldn't drive, 3) People (both drivers in this case) should pay attention.
The fact of the matter is that the HumVee is designed to drive over rough terrain (such as bolders, embankments, small streams,Civics or any other civilian car that my be blocking the way). They are not designed to be the most responsive vehicles. The Civic on the other hand is not designed to go under HumVee'*, but rather get out of its way. The Civic (and most civilian automobiles) are designed to handle better than a HumVee. Two different applications that were not meant to mix...as they did in this encounter
So lets stop comparing apples to ball bearings and just accept this as an amusing encounter that we are glad we were not involved with. Hopfully we all pay attention better than these two did!
