Default 4L60-E Transmission Question

When I put the Blazer in reverse, it takes a second to go into reverse, then goes in, then it goes out and back and fourth. If I put the transmission into netural for ~20 seconds and then back into reverse, it works a lot better.

* There was plenty of fluid in the transmission and it did have a sort of red color to it It is my guess that the fluid had not been changed at all or only once.

* It goes into drive just fine, but I did not take the thing out on the road and see how it did because of the loose rod.

* She said it did sit for a while, how long IDK. Would that play a factor?

Thank You

those trannys are the same ones on the b-body caprices and they are junk but that does not sound norm. should not be doing that take it to a tranny shop and see what they have to say

They'll last longer than that......I have one in my other truck.....Got 129K WELL BEATEN towing a 22' boat with a V6 auto full size chevy miles out of my trans.....plus when I wasn't towing i was full throttle **** cannin' that thing.....Finally one night I kicked'er and it downshifted to first and blew out the sungear. Which is the common failure asside from a TC.

To me it sounds like your sungear is going. They have a new updated one for less than 150 bux I think....but you have to totally rip the trans apart to replace it.
