ok, i understand about the condo deal. but the whole point of grilling out is to enjoy a few cocktails while the coals get ready. and with matchlight, coals are ready in 10 min, so you better drink fast

People who can/do use charcoal need to search around and find lump charcoal instead of the briquettes. No fillers, not made with charcosl dust and clay. It takes a little getting used to, because since it'* actual chunks of charred wood it burns quicker, but the flavor is tons better. And, a lot less ash to try and get rid of.

Ummm. Is he serious, or is he givin me crap because I grill with gas?

A little edumacation time....See guys, the Weber grills have these things called flavor bars....it tastes just like charcoal grillin....I can grill six burgers and eat em before your coals are ready.
I can clean it all up be inside sleeping before your coals are cool enough.
I live in a condo where charcoal grills can't be left out all night to cool.
Ooooh, wow, I'd have to move.

Do you even have winter in Florida, though? I bet if you did you wouldn't grill in it. :P

Why would you stop grilling in winter? I had mine out in January grilling steaks.
