Default and 1200 dollars later..

Since Ive gotten this car and started working on it Ive been trying so hard not to get carried away, but ahh the heck with it. Sprung for a new transmission!! well a rebuild. Went to a Mr Transmission and had this guy my dad knows check it out. This guy was awesome he pulled the entire thing apart in less than 30 minutes. Heres why it wasnt shifitng into 4th gear. The clutch packs were shot, the Valve body allows fluid to leak into the 4th gear clutch and engage it partially. This burned off the clutches and MELTED the valve body. There a shaft with a barrel looking gear on it that was almost sheared off, A couple gears were pitted and worn through, and the bushings in the differential were worn out. All this with labour and parts came to 1200 bucks, cash, no bill. Is that a good deal? I think it is. Any now Ive sunk my first wad of cash into this car. (my dad bought it for me 4 years ago) I am definately gonna drive this car for a while. I took pics of the extremely worn parts and Ill post it when I get a chance. Ill be getting it back in the next couple weeks, I dont drive the car right now so theres no rush. Im getting very excited about it all coming together. Could th is be the mod bug starting to bite?

I think $1200 for a rebuild is pretty decent.
My mom paid like $2800 for a rebuild on her 01 MeSoBitchie Galant

The only differant parts are the Valve body. Hes putting in a redsigned unit that doesnt let the 4th gear drag. What does a shift kit do and where would I get one? Is the reaction drum that large cylinder with the cogs stamped into it? He was talking about how they make hardened ones now, but he didnt say anything about putting one in.
