In the long line of never ending BS: My two driver'* side tires were slashed last night. As were my girlfriends mothers (I was at her house, not a great neighborhood, lol)
Thank God I live in Akron, OH - The Rubber Capitol of the World, as Goodyear and Bridgestone/Firestone are both based here. My grandfather is a Firestone retiree and got me about a $105 discount on the tires. He pays NO labor for anything done at Firestone Complete Autocare stores, and no tire disposal fee.
I got the Bridgestone Insignia SE200s (as that was what was already on the car) and I've heard they're good tires. They were $107.99 per tire, but with the discount it was about $74.00/tire. All in all, I paid $178.99 for 2 new Insignia SE200s with a 3 year warranty against ANYTHING (including slashes
) Not bad I don't think...it would have been closer to $280 without my grandpas discount. I also decided to put both new tires on the front...since those are the drive wheels. The other tires still had about 75% tread life remaining.
