Tell me why I need to buy a new Transmission Oil Filter.

Keep in mind that I was not suggesting that the filter never be changed. It'* good preventative maintenance to do so. I was mainly responding to the less than accurate statement that changing fluid (like a tranny flush where the pan is not dropped and filter changed) is pointless if you don't change the filter. I would much rather have them do a flush that way and get the fluid swapped out than have them procrastinate for any number of reasons because they felt they had to wait to have the filter changed. Plus, people hear "filter" and the filtering capabilities of an oil or air filter come to mind, and that is not the case.

I would say its a good idea only because thats what the interval recommends. It says "Change filter and flush trans fluid" I had mine flushed last time without changing the filter and my trans is starting to shift hard...VERY hard. Taking mine down to AAMCO for a flush and filter change in early december. I don't wanna lose my trans over neglect.
