got my newest visual mod today
First off, thanks to Civicguy808. Second off, USPS sucks. The envelope came wrapped in a plastic bag with this note on it:
DEAR VALUED POSTAL CUSTOMER:
I want to extend my sincere apology as your Postmaster for the enclosed document that was inadvertently damaged in handling by your Postal Service.
We are aware how important your mail is to you. With that in mind, we are forwarding it to you in an expeditious fashion.
The United States Postal Service handles over 202 billion pieces of mail each year. While each employee makes a concerted effort to process, without damage, each piece of mail, an occasional mishap does happen.
We are constantly working to improve our processing methods so that these incedents will be eliminated. You can help us greatly in our efforts if you will continue to properly prepare and address each letter or parcel that you enter into the mailstream.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and sincerely regret any inconvenience that you have experienced.
YOUR POSTMASTER
WTF, man? How do you bend these things up? They're metal for pete'* sake! Looks like somebody sat on them or something! Anyway, here'* the pics.
The damage:
And to make it worse, each badge is messed up. I would have rathered that 1 has all the damage. If you look close at them you can also see where the gray part is cracked where they were bent up. I straightnened them out the best I could, but anyway, I'm still excited to have them.

I'm looking really close, but my eyes are crossed or something, it'* blurry.
I'd be upset too!
Not that it would have mattered, but was it at least a hard envelope? A small USPS box is only $2.

How do you plan to apply them? Do you use some double back tape and stick it to the badge, cut around them and apply it to the car?...Curious cause I am planning to put one on...glad mine came in a box...

Cooey, they come new with peel/stick adhesive. Otherwise, clean off the old crap and apply your own. Use ONLY 3M body/trim adhesive. Gray, with a red backing.
Let'* get back on topic.
Any word on who'* going to pay for the damage?

I've shipped many things. Badges need a little more protection than just a mailer. Although they could have made it safely.. it seems that in processing one of the machines had an issue with the package.
Things happen dude...

Its sad to say but these postal guys are losing their jobs every week due to the post office becoming more and more automated. This means that most of the mail is being handled by machines which can tear, rip or catch these types of mailings in their machinery which sux for the reciever.
This is the end result. I hope you can get the P.O. to pay for the damage........

As much as I'd like to, I'm not gonna make a big deal about it. I've got enough crap going on now to worry about a couple badges on my car. As long as you don't get up close to them, you can't even tell that they're messed up. Thanks, Bill, I wasn't sure exactly what to use on them, but I know now. BonneMeMN, I have the panel for the passenger door, but I can't seem to get it snap on to the top of the clips. I've also got to pull my front 1/4 panel off and do some straightening on it because when I put the panel on and open the door, the 1/4 panel catches the top corner and pulls it right back off.
