0 for 2 Bonne shopping today... plan B?
Today, Boosty, Mrs randman1 and I logged in a couple hundred miles to take a look at two Bonnevilles. The first was a 93 SSEi, red, and reportedly a great looking body. I knew it wasn't in running condition but wanted it for the whole body. Drive train would come from my current 93 and I'd have a nice red car. Wrong! The asking price was $600 but I begrudgingly offered $250 and hoped the seller would say no. The offer was accepted but I passed.
The second was a 94 SE. The seller sent me plenty of pics so I knew full well that it would be a parts car. I figured for $100 and since I might be towing a car from that area already, I'd pick this one up too. Well, there wasn't many good parts that weren't broken. I also declined on that one.
On the way home, I decided to take a swing by a shop in Springfield. Several months earlier, I looked at an 89 Lesabre T-Type that was on the lot. Silver, nice black leather and in need of a driver'* door. The gears started churning...
My very first post here was regarding if I should buy a 90 Bonneville or a T-Type. I've always had a fondness for this unique vehicle and it ignited the whole Bonneville thing for me. Tomorrow I'm gonna call the guy and see if I can take it out for a spin. He was looking for $500 the first time I looked at it but I'll see if I can't get it for a bit less.

Pulling up the 93 SSEi I must say, it did look good from a distance. Closer examination I tried to find every fault possible to help Randy get the price down lower. (Afterall..that'* money that could be spent fixing it.)
Soon I realized this was barely a parts car at best. Car number two was what was expected, a parts car that would only go if the first was purchased. The way back I spent a couple minutes doing the nice friend "Just say NO" chant.
I'm sure w/o mentioning it Randy knows how nicely my basement leads out to my garage and a motor build might be in his future.
