Default Save when buying gaskets

Recently I was ordering gaskets and asked about an engine rebuild gasket kit etc

I found there is a "Conversion Set: Lower" for our cars that has water pump, front and rear main seals, oil pan, oil pick up, oil filter adapter, timing cover etc....a lot of gaskets.

Cost was ~$35, alone the oil pan gasket is ~$45. Thought it was odd and picked them up. Looking through the box, tons of gaskets I may not need. For the cost, this kit and buying gaskets as part of a kit can be a win.

Fel-Pro was my supplier for the rebuild. Got both the lower "conversion" kit (which, btw...what the hell does it convert anyway??) and the cylinder head kit. I think I used about 90% of all those gaskets and seals.

And yes, if doing a full gasket (or even maybe half-gasket) tune-up, these kits save moola.
