Default Take a look see...........

Well, I took my 94 Bonne to have the Tranny filter changed and new gasket. This is the FIRST time I ever had the car up on a lift to see what was under there. Well, I found out that not only was I in for a tranny filter, I now have to do an oil pan gasket, UIM, LIM gasket front and side tranny Mounts since oil is all over it from the leak, replace a gas tank (1st on list) a couple of rear brake thingy'* (I dont really know what they call them, but they are RUSTED out and are going to POP soon) and not to mention the worst part of it, right under the front 1/4'* there is rust flaking on the underside of the body as well as near the rear where the gas tank is. Argggggggggg!! Sorry for the rant and rave but I did not expect this much to be wrong so soon after buying the car. I guess looks arent EVERYTHING!!! Heres some pics!!

Where my Brother works

My Brothers Tool Box

My Car In His Bay

Wet Oil/Tranny Pan 1

Wet Oil/Tranny Pan 2

Wet Oil/Tranny Pan 3

Tranny Fluid Draining

New Tranny Filter Installed

Rusted Gas Tank

Rusted Rear Brake thingy'*

The Lovely Rotting underbody

After all was said and done, the Tranny pan came out sparkling from the parts cleaner. The oil pan was wiped down to get all of the oil crap off of it and I did notice a difference in the shifting once I drove it home. (better) The tranny pan gasket was better and improved. It was thicker and it was rubber with a metal insert. Never saw that before. Next up is the gas tank. That will be done in the next couple of weeks or so. Bro is getting me the aftermarket tank for $107.00

Geesh, so many things so little $$$$ I dont so much mind that I have all of the mechanical things to work on, just the rust that bugs the H*** out of me!! I'm going to try and work on that during the summer if possible.

that gas tank? complete surface rust. no need to replace it. seriously. you should see my tank. 253k on it, full of surface rust. does it leak? heck no. surface rust is just that. SURFACE rust. if it really hurts your feelings that much, drop the tank and take a wire wheel to it, then rust proof it. don't spend the xtra 100 bucks on a different tank, it'll have the same issues ytou're arleady dealing with.

those are proportioning valves. They should regulate the preasure to the rear brakes so it is even on both sides and has the correct front to rear brake bias.

I just had my tranny flushed today along with an oil change and everything else and I agree that it shifts and rides so much better afterwards.
