The worst feeling in the world truly is "I'm gonna hit some thing. I don't know what, but it'* gonna be hard."

Glad to see you're ok and able type the story, although i'm sure you'd rather not be typing it if you know what i mean.
But, there is a silver lining to every cloud, and boost may be required in the next purchase.

boost would be very nice...but im gonna be paying for the next car i would say, i was spoiled on this one, all i had to pay was gas...but my parents are gonna help me get a loan and try and get the payments fairly cheap, and then ill be makin the payments and id say helping on some insurance, i already made their insurance higher once this year with a traffic ticket, now i wrecked my car....eesh

so im hoping to find something cheap, what sucks is usually the only things that are cheap to insure are the little econoboxes...which would be nice at the pumps...but not so fun at the poles

and yes Matt someone was lookin out for me and i know exactly who it was for those of you who are believers in God, i find it to be no coincidence that this morning i ordered a 100 dollar voice recorder so that all future messages at my church could be burnt to cds, and then i was returning from getting stuff to put the existing cassettes we have into digital format so they could be burnt to cds...i think i made the devil mad, he didnt like me getting excited about distributing the word of God....not tryin to sound all preachy...but it makes sense...and although the whole is kind of a blur, i still cant recall an exact reason why my car flipped around the other direction before hitting the pole, at least no logical one...hitting that pole going as fast as i was turned the other direction could have been a whole nother ball game.

honestly the guy driving the truck didnt screw me up, i screwed myself up, had i not been going so fast, a simple maneuver such as hitting the brakes in mid corner and scooting over a little would not have been such an ordeal...so it was really no ones fault but mine.

it takes good nerve to admit ones fault. I respect that.

very true. i have been in 2 accidents in the last year <not all that bad though> and will agree, they truely do change your life, especially the ones that you can see the car hit. be glad your car was there to protect you. remember it happens to the best of us. all you can do is move on, and maybe even learn from your mistakes <optional, but recommended>

its good to know you are okay, but it is saddening to know that another bonneville is to be written off.

heres to your health, you can keep writing history, instead of becoming it.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I'm glad you're OK.

Again, the Bonneville has done it'* job well....another survivor walked away from a serious incident.

As for siphoning the gas out... I like to use a stiff piece of tubing..say 3/8" in diameter and feed it through the filler neck into the tank. Get a good amount of hose into the tank. Then, CAREFULLY start the siphon by sucking on the tube. Don't let any gas get into your mouth (watch the hose to see the where the fuel is at in the tubing). Once the siphon starts, put the tube into an empty 5 gallon gas container. Be very careful when using this method. You don't want to get gas in your mouth or eyes.

And, like already mentioned, we need pics of the damage!
