summer project
So on my way to work tonight i stop to get a soda and run into a buddy that is a camaro guy and he says guess what so I play along and humor him. Long story short I will have a v6 camaro in my garage this summer for a retro fit project. I will be taking that l36 and turning it into a l67 instead of dropping a v8 in there... Blasphemy you say I know but he wants a fun DD and since i know the 3.8 pretty well he is going to pay me to swap it in and work the bugs out. I know it is a waste of time to most ppl but I think this will be a fun project to make work and if i work it right I can find a little 02 v6 bird and do the same on it. I think I will have it run a cam and then smooth the heads to get rid of the castings and stick bigger valves and springs in it have it to the point where a stock lt1 car would be at or a little better. The goal is 300 whp and 25+ mpg. when this all goes down i will post pics since this has been a goal of mine to do for a while. The issue will be cowl clearance but heat and a hammer should help with some of that.

If I may make a suggestion. Look for a L26 block. Same as the L36 block, only newer and you may find one cheaper. I don't see it as a waste. A V6 has less weight then a V8. Add the supercharger and your going to be better off. Cam it, put some #105 springs, headers, smooth the heads, port the supercharger and LIM, intercooler would be a big plus. Some #42 injectors, a ported TB or N* and larger MAF, perhaps a LS1, or a LQ4. That should get you real close to your goal.
