Default Gauges and Gasless, oh my!

Sorry, my over-active imagination is at work again Anyways, I had something weird happen to me on the way home today. First of all, I have to say that I'm currently lower on gas with my car than I have ever been before. Combine a pathological aversion to using the debit card, along with no cash money, and that'* what you get Hey, I get my check tomorrow; can't I wait? Anyways, the gauge is about in the middle of the yellow gas warning level on the gauge, and I'm driving home, when all of a sudden I hear a triple beep from the console, along with a yellow "Check Gauges" light in the car-shaped display. Remember, I have an SE. Anyways, I'm like "Whaaa?", but when I turned it off when I got home, then turned the car back on to check to see if it was still there, it was gone! Any ideas on what that whole thing might have been about? Any insight into this is greatly appreciated, I assure you all Thanks again in advance to anyone who posts!

Oh yeah, and how far could I probably go with my current gas level? Just wondering if anybody has had experience with that, too. I have about 10-15 miles I have to drive tomorrow before I can fill her; can I make it on what I still have in the tank? As I said before, it'* about midway through the yellow shaded area right before "E". Thanks again, all

Lol, Kyle..... it'* all good.

I don't know how long you can make it with your current gas level because I've never tried running mine out of gas. Plus, gauges can be different and have inaccuracies in them, so there'* no telling how much gas you actually have left.

As for the dinging noise and Check Gages light, that'* perfectly normal. It does that to draw attention to the fact that you're almost out of gas, and it usually takes it a little while to do it again once you shut the car off and restart it. All you need to do is get some gas in that puppy!

all these exact numbers remind me of repair bills ringing up for replacement fuelpumps.
