A month later, and still venting
Ok so many of you may remember the post i made about a month agao that had pics of the bonnie after someone ran me off the road and decided to flee the scene. Well i finally got her back friday and i have to say the shop i had taken her to did a pretty nice job on the outside. Got her hoime and didnt really drive her til sunday. thats when i notice some shimmy in the wheels at high way speeds. so i put her up on stands and what do you know, BOTH sway bar endlinks are broken!!! You'd think a shop would have caught that. So 30 min and 20 bucks later i got new endlinks on. while im down there i notice that my driver side wheel well cover is missing two clips. I didnt think too much of it until i got home and smelled burning rubber when i got out of the car. not sure if wheel is rubbing the well liner or what but after the sway bar link fail and now missing clips im thinking this place wasnt as thorough as i would like them to be. needless to say shes goin back today. i wanna hear what lame excuse they give me for missing those things.

I have experienced and seen this over and over in body shops. To many are just focused on bodywork. Especially with insurance claims you would think they would be looking for everything they can charge for. And it really does the customer a dis service to not pick these things up when writing the estimate. Alot of insurance companies wont honor additional repairs after the check is cut and the car leaves the shop. They say you signed the estimate and repair order and anything could have happened after the car left the shop. Everyone should be proactive when estimates are done, by the insurance adjuster or the body shop estimator. Never assume everything will be addressed and repaired. It can turn and byte you in the azz.

Yeah i see that now. Anyways I went back to the shop yesterday, and told the guy what was going on, he said "oh ok, well lemme take her around back and have a look at her." I said "sure why dont i join you." so we get into the garage i show him the new endlinks and the missing clips in the wheel well cover. his response, "i dont know how we missed this." kept looking around the car and im not really sure what possesed me to tap the bumper but i did, and i heard something move, i tapped it again to pinpoint the noise. one of these guys left a 1/2 socket in my bumper. I told the guy right there that he wasnt making it any easier for himself.LOL a whole hour later I was satisfied with the inspection and i drove away a happy camper.
