POP during left turn
I doubt this issue is Buick-specific, so posting in the General area.
I noticed that during sharp left turns (on my new-to-me '00 Buick LeSabre), I am hearing very noticeable pop-pop-pop sounds as I return the wheel slowly back to center position. Sounds like it'* coming from the center/left side under the engine compartment area. It'* been SO cold here lately that I have not been able to get underneath the car to look around.
I can't really tell if it'* steering related, or suspension related for something getting stressed during the body roll of a turn. Ride is smooth and steering is straight otherwise. Does the "pop" noise mean anything to anyone? Front struts maybe? Any suggestions appreciated.

I thought I had seen a TSB about a popping noise while turning on Bonnevilles.
It had to do with the inner tie rod and boot coming into contact while moving.
I have not been able to find the TSB, but I will keep looking. Hope this helps.

I could check the NHTSA.gov website later... I think they list TSB'* along with recalls but I'm not 100% sure about that.
EDIT: I just checked myself. No TSB'* on the "Recalls/Safety" section. One of the recalls mentioned steering but I'm not really sure this is my problem:
This vehicle got almost all of its service done at the dealership by the previous owner (old retired lady) so I'm guessing all the recall issues have been taken care of already.

SUMMARY:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE INNER TIE ROD NUTS ARE LOOSE AND CAN RESULT IN SEPARATION OF A TIE ROD.
CONSEQUENCE:
SEPARATION OF A TIE ROD CAN CAUSE UNEXPECTED STEERING INPUT INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
REMEDY:
DEALERS WILL CHECK AND ADJUST THE VEHICLE TOE-IN AND TIGHTEN THE INNER TIE ROD NUTS TO THE SPECIFIED TORQUE.

Does the popping noise occur only when the car is moving, or also when stopped at idle? Based on your description it sounds like only when the car is moving, which means it is more likely a front suspension issue than a steering system issue. If that is the case, you should pull the front left wheel and inspect all the suspension parts, as well as the CV joint on the half shaft, for play. If you are not mechanically inclined, take it to a tire shop for a front suspension inspection.

tsb'* are just like internal tech bulletins for the dealer techs to watch out for, recalls gm has to pay for
i would look under it, alot of them need the control arm bushings and or lower ball joints. my inlaws just bought a 2000 lesabre with about 60-70k and it just had its control arms replaced, looks like they just replaced the whole things for convenience

Popping noise only occurs when moving, and only while making sharp left turns and straightening out from the turn. I've got a trusted backyard mechanic (although serious enough to have a full size hydraulic vehicle lift in his workshop garage) that I'll take it to soon. He repaired some front suspension issues on my other car ('07 Chrysler Pacifica) last year.

Here is the TSB for pop type noise during steering wheel rotation.
06-02-32-005 It covers later models of Lesabre, but could be your same issue.

If it was a steering system issue he would likely experience some level of the problem when sitting at idle and turning the steering wheel. Since he is only experiencing the problem when moving, it points more to a front suspension issue.
