Default Should I clean out my snout?

When I try to change my coupler should I clean out the snout? What should I use to clean it up inside? Any ideas to help me out on my quest would be great! Thanks

There'* really nothing to clean inside. Just wipe it down. All that'* really in there is 1 coupler and 2 gears.
