supercharger coupler
Well I finally decided to get it done today. Had all the parts and did it in about 4 hrs. I bought new O-rings for the injectors but decided not to change them cause they aren't leaking at this time. Car now idles without the rattle and everything seems to be good as new. Also I cleaned my throttle body and this time I did it without the MAF sensor on it. All in all i'm very happy with everything.

won't know about the snappier throttle response until this evening. I'll i've done is idle so far. After I take it for a drive tonite and smash the loud pedal i'll let you know about the throttle response.

Just got back from testing out the car. Seems to have a more responsive throttle. Boost gauge went wacky and pegged out during the drive. Stopped and checked the wiring and found nothing wrong. Kept on driving and filled up with gas at the station and drove around for awhile more and finally the boost gauge started working again. Went to church and came back out to my car and started in up and got about 2 miles down the road and the boost gauge pegged out again all the way to the left. Started working again after a few miles and now it'* working again. My question is how much boost should I be reading at full throttle. Remember i'm at high altitude so I should have less boost correct. So far it reaches about 8psi. I've checked all my connections and everything is good. What else could cause the gauge to act funny?

Well after work today I started the car up and the rattle was back again. After careful evaluation of everything I realized what was wrong. The belt tensioners are both shot. It takes 10 ft-lbs to move the tensioner. So i've ordered both tensioners new and it'* gonna cost about 120 bucks. So for now i'm without a car. The squeek goes away at about 1000rpms. Still i'm glad I replaced the coupler cause it was only gonna be time before it went out.

Well I just got both belt tensioners via UPS today. Installed them and started the car up and it still makes the rattle at idle. After some more looking around I realized that my harmonic balancer is shot. So I called around and one auto place said they have one for $92. So it should be in tommorrow. And I can't seem to get the balancer off. I'm needing a gear puller I believe. I think a 3 inch one will get the balancer off. All this screwing around has got me pretty mad. I mean after 3 weeks without the Bonneville I'm starting to get a little mad. Well I thought I would just vent a little and let everyone know what'* going on.

8psi sounds perfect for your car/altitude. Sucks about all the parts, but at least you know all that is new now Some improved confidence, perhaps?
Were the 6 holes in your coupler egg-shaped at all, or still pretty round?
