How to change the driver display name

How to change the driver display name
I have been wanting to change the driver name on my 2000 pontiac bonneville, when you turn it on it displays someone elses name, does anyone know what Im talking about, Im also having a problem with my compass before I was able to drive around in circles and reset it now it doesnt let me do anything, can someone help

A Tech II scanner is required to change the name on the DIC. If you have your car scanned for the lock/window/lighting problem, maybe they would be kind enough to do it for free, or at least cheaper.
Do you have a sub-woofer, or large metal objects in your trunk? Those can mess with the compass.

You can try either moving the sub-woofers to slightly different spot and see if it helps, or try moving the compass module. It is under the rear deck in the trunk, near the left speaker.

Use bucking magnets... It is simply another magnet glued to the back of the speaker magnet in opposite polarity. You can buy them in various sizes from www.partsexpress.com
This is how home speakers are "shielded" to prevent them from distorting your TV'* picture . Granted it may not completely solve the problem but it should help & allow closer placement of the speakers before it affects the compass.
