Default 97 bonneville SE radiator fan keeps blowing fuses.

Does anyone have a diagnostics and/or wiring schematic for this. Keeps blowing the 40amp fuses on short rides thru town.

How long does the fan run before the fuse pops?

First up is to unplug one fan and test, then swap which is plugged and unplugged. I think you might find the resistors on the back of the high speed fan is bad. Best I can do from work w/o the manual.

The fuse blows after approx 5-10 minutes running. And that'* without the AC on. If it'* the resistors on the high speed fan. Can they alone be replaced on how much are we talking? Thanks

If it'* the resistors..I'd get a different set from a junkyard. Shouldn't cost much.

Why are the fans on in the first place if the A/C is not on? That does not sound right? I am thinking you may have a little more on your hands than some resistors :?
