My Car'* Not Starting!!
I have a '93 Bonneville.I got it a few months ago.In the beginning,it started up okay, but after a little while it would start up sometimes on it'* own;sometimes it would need a jump.Eventually,it didn't start at all.But the interior lights, radio,& dash would all light up.So, I replaced the battery and, after getting the starter tested,I found out I needed to replace that as well. After doing that,it went back to starting up fine. Now,only about 8 weeks later,it'* back to the same stuff.Sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't.It'* getting worse-to the point that I pretty much need a jump every time to start it.I've had people tell me it could be the alternator;I've had people tell me it might be a short. What could it be???

Pull the battery cables and inspect them for corrosion. If they get corroded they will let enough amps threw to run lights and stuff, but not enough to turn the car over.
By not start, are you saying it doesn't turn over. or it turns over but doesn't fire.

I had a similar problem with the '95 Bonneville I had. Sometimes it would start, sometimes not. If I repeatedly kept turning the key to start, the car would eventually start.
Some of the forum members mentioned that the problem may be in the VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System). It was the problem, I wound up putting a resistor in the VATS wiring harness under the steering column to bypass the VATS. That may be your problem also, just a suggestion.

the battery meter in the car goes up and down when drive one second Go 12 Volts Next 9 volts i just like 2 or 3 months change the starter n i clean the corrosion. It Turns sometimes when the battery wants to act good n a little jump helps to get it started then other times you have to hook the cables up and leave them for a while then it will slowly get more juice then start up I dont think its the VATS. I think its the Alternator bc when u go get the battery Fully Charged the car start up no problem only when it is sitting there in the cold or drove it has a problem i started it this morning by a jump and i look at the Alternator and it waz winey and sparking i dont know if thats the problem or not i know the starter was sparking last time and i replace it and the car was fine. So something is draining my battery or the Alternator is not charging my battery and needs to be change. I just want to know what way should i go with this and what is the easiest way to do it with "litttle money"
