Leather or Cloth seats ?
I found a 92 SSEi almost identical to mine but this one has leather interior & seems to be in good shape.
So I'm wondering if I should take out my cloth seats and door panels and grab these leather ones from the wrecker.
Anyone know how difficult it is to change the seats in a 92 SSEi ? More specifically the rear seat ?
What kind of maintaince is required cleaning / mosturising the seats to prevent cracking & tearing.
What do you guys prefer..........Leather or Cloth seats ? Pro'* .........Con'* ?
Any feed back is appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Dutch

well, it really comes down to what you want. are you a fan of the leather interior? if you do get them, i recommend conditioning the heck out of them for a while so they dont tear as easily.

Leather is nice..so far I've only owned it in the spring and summer.. Not sure how hard it will be in winter.
Cloth: Harder to clean, always the right temp when you sit down. and you don't slide on it.
Leather: More desired than cloth, easier to clean up, summer..look out if you are wearing shorts, winter..to be seen. You could slide on leather if you weren't on the butckets.
To change the seats is easy. Fronts have 4 bolts..one per corner. Rears are easy too..Push down and in on the front of the seat..then lift up.. I forget the back..but it'* a piece of cake as well.

Let me be the one to say, if you have a 92 ssei with cloth seats it is VERY RARE. 99% of 92 ssei'* have leather and to have cloth, that'* rare. Is it Tan or Grey?
I absolutly LOVE my cloth 100x better than the leather found in the 92-95 bonnies. I think leather back then just isn't what it is today. The cloth tends not to rip as easily, not get too hot in the summer or to cold in the winter.
I'd stick with your cloth
BTW, got any pics of your interior. would love to see it!

I believe it was Twister 97 that made the switch to leather, and possibly damemorder as well. I absolutely love leather and will never own cloth.
The back seats are very easy to remove. First remove the bottom cushion by pushing back and then pulling up on each side. Next remove the back cushion by unbolting four bolts on the bottom and then pulling up. Simple.

Leather is 1000 times better than cloth, once the leather is cleaned and perfect looking its really easy to maintain compaired to the cloth seats, just make sure nobody sits in the seat with a pen or something that can stab the leather, i have leather but if i were you do the swap! Youll be happy

You have to get the leather. Seriously, You will never look back.
It only took me one day to swap over, Including going from power drivers seat to dual power seats. In the winter, When the seats are still cold, I can put people on the other side of the car, Quickly. It kind of sucks if you drive your car below freezing alot, but it only takes 5 minutes for the leather to heat up. In the summer it rocks, And when people talk about their parents "nice" cars with leather, You can laugh to yourself knowing that you have leather... And women like it too
Make sure and get the steering wheel... Oh god it'* nice....
Seriously, GET THE LEATHER!!!
