06 Chevy Equi Airbag light stays on
2006 Chevy Equinox 4.3L V6 150,000 miles.
My airbag light came on one day without having any impact and can't get it to go back out.
I replaced the impact sensor at $124.00 and no change.
Checked all connectors including airbag, seats and seat belts.
I'm now focusing on the airbag controller but I don't where it is located.
Can anyone help me with locating the airbag controller or with this airbag light.
I checked for codes with the OBDII reader and no codes are present.
The airbag light does have a flash sequence of 7 and 2.
What does 7 and 2 mean?
Please help, I have 2 young drivers that need this car and I'm not comfortable with anyone driving it.

What did you use to scan it with? Not a lot of OBD scanners scan for ABS or body codes. You will need a higher end scanner to do those.

Like Mike said, most scanners/code readers, only read "P" or power train codes....
Air bag codes are body, or "B" codes.....your only shot at going into any kind of diagnosis, is to read the air bad code....if the light is on, or was on, a codes is set.....
When you turn the key to on(don't crank the vehicle), it should flash 7 times and go out......if there is a code, it will flash 7 times and stay on.....
Does this vehicle have PPS?
Not sure how you were getting a 7 and 2?
Why was impact sensor changed?

Thanks Mike1995......Yeah, I don't have a scanner that reads body codes. Where can I get the body codes scanned other than taking it to a shop and getting whacked just to read the code. I changed the impact sensor because I thought it might fix the problem. The car was not in any accidents or bumps.
I guess I'm reading the flash sequence incorrectly so based on what Tech II said it flashed twice after the initial 7.
What is PPS?
